Song Feedback

We played our chosen song for our class and got their feedback from it. We took the main points they made and create a list of what we need to look out for:

* The start of the son is very slow, so there needs to be something excited happening to make sure that the audience is kept interested.

*I like the idea of the switching between the artist and the producer but it needs to be kept clear who the main artist is.

Lip Synch

Me and Lucy filmed each other lip synching to our chosen song. We did this because it showed us and allowed others to see who lip syncs better to the song and fits the image of the song better. 

We decided on Lucy being the main artist because we felt she portrayed the image we wanted the best.

My song choices pitch

Three songs I pitched:
Madonna
I had ideas of implementing the colour pink into the video. I also had ideas of a girl dancing in her bedroom along to the beat. The song has a element of aggressiveness and sass. I wanted to implement this with the dancing style and the costumes.






Rose Coloured Boy
I quite liked this song because it had a nice upbeat atmosphere to it and I thou that we could work with this well when filming the video. I also got a retro theme room it and thought that this would be interesting theme to introduce in the video.





Pool
Since this video is called Pool, I had ideas of having a lot of underwater shots to fit with the theme. The song also starts with wind chimes. For this part of the song, I had an idea of slowly introducing the artist into the video by creating cuts in time with the beat.

Music Video Pitch

Me and Lucy pitched different songs to each other and discussed the ideas we had for these songs. W decided on the song Spinning Wheel.

Audience Work

I listen to music everyday. I listen to music anytime and anywhere. I like to listen to music when I'm walking to or from school. When I'm walking I usually like to  listen to upbeat songs because I find that they make me walk faster and put me in a good mood for the day. When I am at home on her own I like to listen to types of music that my parents won't enjoy such as Post Malone songs. I listen to a variety of different musics and I am influenced heavily by what my friends listen to therefore further varying my music likes and dislikes because all my friends have completely different music tastes. When me and my friends go out I am usually in control of the music that is played because I have a wide variety of music, my playlist consists of lots of songs that everyone enjoys.
I listen to music usually via Apple Music, or the radio when at I am at work.

No Rest - Dry the River Analysis

When I listen to this music video, the beat is quite strong. This strong beat creates a sense of empowerment and creates a sense of strength to the song. The lyrics hint at a broken relationship so this contradicts the sense of empowerment the beat portrays.
The first line of the song mentions a King. From this lyric, I immediately start to imagine a royal theme throughout the song. The idea of kings and royalty also link to potential conflict and violence.

The music video didn't look how I imagined it but it works really well with the music. I think the water shots (where the singers had water thrown at them), really portrays the struggle that is highlighted in the lyrics of the song. The intense light at the end also reflects the harshness of their song and the rawness of their emotions.

Banana Phone

This task was to create a short video highlighting the different shots/edits that can be done to a video to make it more interesting. We were put into groups and worked on it for a week.
